A third man has been charged over the shooting death of a man at a home in Newcastle, NSW eleven months ago.
On September 6 last year, police responded to a residence on Fowler Street, Hamilton South, shortly after 11pm following reports of a shooting.
The 57 year-old victim was found with gun shot wounds and despite the efforts of paramedics died at the scene.
Police formed Strike Force Alcheringa to investigate, and conducted several search warrants that uncovered firearms.
Last week, two men were arrested after police searched several properties in Sydney and the Hunter region.
The men, 26 and 32, were charged with murder and supplying a pistol to a person unauthorised to possess it.
Their matters are still before the courts.
A 26-year-old man was transported from a correctional facility in Junee to Wagga Wagga Police Station on Tuesday where he was charged with the same offences.
He is due to face Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.
The arrests come amid a major crackdown on gun crime in NSW under the newly established Task Force Magnus.
